5 Questions to Kathrin

What’s your job at Fronius?

At Fronius in Thalheim, I am responsible for the further/new development of the energy management system using machine learning technologies and artificial intelligence. For this purpose, I develop algorithms that learn how to optimally distribute and store energy on the basis of building data and how to automatically adapt to a possibly changing environment.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

It gives me a great feeling to work on future-oriented technologies, such as the new energy management system, which also protects the environment. Renewable energy resources are thus optimally exploited. Energy consumption from conventional sources as well as energy costs are both reduced.

Which three words would you use to describe your job?

Demanding, varied and forward-looking.

What do you like most about your job?

Every day my job confronts me with big and small challenges, which motivate me to give my best and to constantly develop myself further. Nowhere else is the saying "you never stop learning" as current and true as in computer science.

What is your biggest achievement to date – personal & professional?

I am very proud to be one of the few employees with a background in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. This enables me to gain insights into many other projects and developments at Fronius in addition to my work in energy management.
